Mr. Pine is Of Counsel at Butters Brazilian LLP. Mr. Pine is a seasoned trial attorney practicing in the areas of criminal defense, breach of contract, real estate disputes, construction litigation and personal injury.
Mr. Pine began his career as a public defender with the New York City Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice in Bronx County. While there, he earned the respect and admiration of clients, peers and judges for his devoted client advocacy and polished trial skills. During this time, he fought for over 1000 clients facing criminal charges and attained numerous not guilty verdicts, dismissals and suppression of evidence as lead counsel in both jury and bench trials.
Following the Legal Aid Society, Mr. Pine transitioned into private practice where he expanded his focus to helping companies and individuals in high-stakes civil disputes. His meticulous preparation and strong negotiation skills helped achieve numerous favorable outcomes for clients, including six and seven figure settlements.
For embodying excellence in practice, Super Lawyers Magazine named Mr. Pine to its “Rising Stars” list every year since 2015. The National Trial Lawyers and National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys also recognized Mr. Pine as a top trial attorney in Massachusetts under the age of 40.

Mr. Pine’s distinguished trial skills earned him an instructor position with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), the nation’s leading provider of legal advocacy skills training, where he coaches practicing lawyers on core trial techniques. He has also served as teaching faculty for the Intensive Trial Techniques Program at Hofstra Law School.
